You're probably thinking a) who is Megan, Lately? b) why am I here? c) why aren't there hundreds of posts for me to peruse through now that I am, in fact, here? Sit tight, hold onto your coffee, and enjoy the ride.
Who is Megan, Lately?
Me! Hello! I'm Megan, the author and voice behind "The Almost Adult" and the Megan behind Megan, Lately. No, lately is not my last name nor am I one of those people who's terrified of the Internet and allowing people to know too much about me. Lately comes from the fact that this is blog, this post, is who I am today. I've changed a lot since I entered my twenties and I firmly believe that I'll continue to grow, learn, and change as I climb towards my thirties. This blog is who I am lately, but not who I'll always be. I don't believe in living my life inside of a rigid mold or by a strict set of guidelines. I enjoy the uncertainty and freshness found in beginning and ending each day in the shades of grey. I can promise you that I'll always love cold brew and a good cheese board (#sconnienation), but my hope is that each and every one of you will grow with me - and hopefully grow to enjoy the shades of grey. Thoughts, opinions, and snarky comments are mine and mine alone.
Why am I here?
I don't know - why are you here? Is this a more philosophical question regarding your place on Earth because I can't help you with that. I got a BC in my college philosophy class. If you're asking why you're here, visiting this blog and reading these words, I'm not sure what brought you here but my hope is that you'll stay. Maybe you found this blog because you also struggle to feel like a real adult 100% of the time. Maybe you quit your day job and realized you have no idea what you want out of life or who you truly are deep down to the soul. Maybe you don't know why you ended up here or why you stayed long enough to read these words, but I'm certainly glad you did. Whatever the reason, I hope you stay a while and continue to come back often. I think we could be great friends.
Why aren't there hundreds of posts for me to peruse?
Simply put: this is new. I began putting pen to paper and writing my random thoughts & ideas on post-its, old journals, and my hand. Anything that I could write on, I did. I soon realized that I genuinely loved to write and wanted to share it with others. I have a collection of post-its and scribbled notes on the back of receipts stacked up and ready to be modernized on the Internet - but my 9 to 5 and *almost* year old puppy take the vast majority of my 24 hours each day. I hope to slowly grow this blog and always have something to talk about. Somedays that may mean writing about my most recent Nordstrom online shopping binge to try and feel better about blowing money on a leather jacket I may never wear; other days it may be about trying to find balance. Wherever the wind takes me, I hope you'll stay tuned. Soon there'll be hundreds of posts to browse through - until then, patience is a virtue, as my mom always said.
